A ham friend got a new Begali keyer paddle from his wife for Christmas, he had a ZN-9A that just never felt right for his style of sending. He didn't like the magnetic action and it was too light weight for his fist.
So he sent me the ZN-9A for Christmas !!!
It's much smaller than I imagined from looking at web site photos. Photo shows it with my red Jones Key (1993) and my wife's black Vibroplex (1996). The ZN-9A weighs 2 lbs, the other two are much heavier with larger bases.
I have a Begali Magnetic Traveler and the ZN-9A feels nice, I tried it on the air. I guess I'm used to that type of action now
It looks like N3ZN keys are now either heavier and bigger than the discontinued ZN-9A, or much lighter (so-called QRP keys).
Merry Christmas from Colorado !!
