As we're currently talking about Cootie keys, I thought I'd mention a modern one from VIZKey.

But a quick Google reveals all sorts out there, so listing Cooties on the forum here is probably a rabbit hole!
They're so easy to knock up yourself, I'm not sure why you'd want to buy one (especially at that price). Having built a Hacksaw Blade single paddle (dits one way, dahs the other) which is mechanically identical to a Cootie, I can say that the centring of a hacksaw blade has very little hysteresis which means I can keep my gaps fairly tight without problems. I take care to make the gaps the same on both sides.
Also having a spring-centred single paddle, I agree that the centring on those types is rather vague and my gaps are therefore rather larger than I would prefer.
