I seem to recall reading about this key in "Key Notes" possibly? It's a home-brew mechanical bug key based of the Vibroplex design, and built by G0VFS.

After winning the Lockdown Category in the RSGB?s Annual Construction competition he donated the key to be sold to raise money for the ?NHS Charities Together? (registered charity no.1186569).

At the time of posting this message there is still over five days of the auction still to go, and incredibly there are already 30 bids with the current amount standing at ?365.55 (not bad for a home made key!)

It will be interesting to see what the final value this 'unique' key raises.

Wow!!!  :o

I'm thoroughly amazed. I thought I would go and check to see what the home brew key finally sold for...

And the answer is an incredible ?1,025.99 :o

I've seen some of the original Horace G. Martin keys from the first year of production sell for less than that.

I'm just gobsmacked.
