My 10th home brew key

Here is number 10. A very long time in the works with almost a full year of build time. This key is made from Avonite solid surface kitchen counter top material. This was my first attempt to fabricate with brass. I mostly used crude hand tools on this key and cut the lever out with a hand jig saw. I turned the knob with a cordless drill, it was also my first attempt at turning a knob too.

Most of the build time went into polishing, with over 200 hours of polishing time for this key. All of it by hand. The gemstones are real. I have 4 rubies set in the brass parts, with the largest stone in the center of the lever being 4.5 carats. The clear stones are set into the red parts and are White Topaz. The key performs GREAT and maybe the best action I have ever felt? It is among the top 3 anyway. I give all my keys nicknames. I decided to call this key the Royal Ruby Pump, but her nickname is Princess Diana. I might just keep this key? ;)

As always Bill, a work of art....

Or should that be 'working art'? 😊

Excellent!
