Greetings from Rhode Island, in the north east United States.

I am an active licensed Amateur Radio operator since receiving my license in the early 1980's.
From the mid 1960's until the early 1980's I enjoyed very much being a shortwave listener and member
of several Amateur Radio clubs in the Boston, Massachusetts area.

Moving to Rhode Island in the early 1990's and off the air for a few years while settling in, I managed
to get and HF station up and running and enjoying c.w. once again.

I still enjoy swl'ing, even with all the changes over the years.

I work all bands and modes when able from 160 meters through the satellites and it gives me pleasure
to be able to put the State of Rhode Idland in the logbook of other stations working on their W.A.S.
certificate.

Most recently after 40 years in the transportation industry I have had to retire early due to health concerns.

While in recuperation mode I spend a lot of time listening for low power stations, mostly on the forty meter
band, 7.040 Khz QRP and QRPp stations.

I also enjoy listening for beacon stations on all bands and logging them when able as well as sending the
log information related to the band being monitored.

I try to maintain an even keel at all times and when operating on the air, it is always done in the
Spirit of Amateur Radio.

After all, it takes all of us to make this hobby happen, including shortwave listeners.

See ya' on the air soon ! de Myrton "MY" Smith - N1GKE -

Greetings Myrton!

I see from your info that we've both been licensed around the same number of years. I too was a keen SWL (and still am).

I hope that your health is better these days, though I sometimes wonder if the 'Guy in the sky' maybe thinks that a little bit of illness is a good way to slow us down some, and give us more time to play radio!

Best 73, Mark.
