HST MkIII by Begali

I'm just getting back into radio after about a 10-year hiatus. I haven't lost much of my code proficiency and am interested in getting a Begali HST MkIII so that I can operate with a keyer and a sideswiper for SKCC.  I am currently listening to Morse Mania which is an excellent download on my MAC.  As I said I am just getting back into ham radio and am planning to work CW at least 90% of the time. I plan on using the HST to speed up my code and assist me in developing a good fist.  Will be looking at getting into the 30 wpm area for contesting a little.  I can't use an iambic paddle.  73 to all of you! I have the Sculpture Swing and went for it as reports are that it can be adjusted for a lighter touch than the HST III. Light touch is what I prefer. I have never tried out the HST III.

If I feel the need for SK others have said just to turn it on its side. Never have & seems a little hokey to me, but if I got really bored somethime I might think about it. I do have a nice straight that I might use someday. :-[

No keyers here. I have been on a mission to reduce electronic gadgets in my life. Challenging as I am an EE.

I haven't reached the speed limit of the sideswiper (~40 wpm) and like the instant speed change (as fast as I can get my brain to make the adjustment at least) it affords me.

Also, I have the Begali CW Machine. Not a life saver but a definite reduction in frustration to mastering a side swiper. The decoder part has a very narrow window for a particular speed. It is amazing how screwed up just an advance of 3 or 4 wpm can make your fist. drill yourself on it a few times and you... will have much less frustration. Was going to say off to the races, but ... .. .
