Hi to everyone. Name here is Ken, I'm in San Antonio TX and I've been licensed since 1979 with some periods of inactivity due to life circumstances. I do manage to keep a station put together nowadays (Icom 718 with stealthy wire antennas due to HOA covenants) and when I'm on the air it's usually on CW or one of the soundcard modes. I only occasionally use phone but enjoy it when I do.

Hope to run into you guys on the air!

Hiya Ken

We could sure do with some of that Texas sunshine over here in the UK at the moment! It's been raining every day for around three weeks now!

I tend to use stealthy antennas too, because I find that as soon as I set up any large wire antennas the neighbours blame me for everything from their cats coughing up furballs to their wives running away with the postman! :p

The IC-718 is a great radio. We sell quite a number of them at the Ham Radio store where I work, and I've yet to see one go faulty. If you fit the optional narrow CW filter and DSP unit they become even more superb!

Thanks for joining Ken and look forward to many 'QSOs' around the forum!

Best 73, Mark.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the welcome, looks like a nice site here. Still exploring all the features but looks like it's gonna be fun.

I'd gladly trade some sunshine for some of your rain, we've had about 30 days of 100+ temps (about 38C I believe) since the beginning of June and no rainfall to speak of since mid-March. Very hot and dry here.

Been lucky with my neighbors and 718, no complaints from or about either one. Just having to follow the rules so the HOA cops don't make my life miserable :p

Thanks again and see you around the forum

73,
Ken
