I am Jerry, K5PSH. QTH is Bryan, Texas. I am old enough to qualify as a geezer.

Been licensed since 1958. Only time off the air was during service time '66-'70; but it didn't hurt; i was a CW intercept operator in those days, and copied code in 12 hour shifts for 38 months and seven days.

I still work CW only on HF; preferring ragchew and casual DXing. I seldom work contests, but when i do i modify them to suit my own requirements.

Equipment at k5psh is modest, 100w maximum power (seldom used), and wire antennas at low heights. I have a Drake 2B receiver that gives me much pleasure while listening to the bands.

One other eccentricity i must confess is that i enjoy experimenting with crystal radios; simple but still functional.

Hiya Jerry! :)

Welcome to our little site.

I see that you like crystal radios. I also like to experiment with crystal sets, especially shortwave ones.

I have a British Thomas Huston crystal radio.

See you around the forum Jerry!

Mark.

Hi Jerry. Name is Greg and I am new here. I also was a CW op in the military back in the 60s. Still love using it but don't get the chance as much as I would like to. Hope to ragchew with you and others in the future. Have a nice day. 73.

thanks for the welcome guys--be looking for QSOs with you in the near future--

Hi Jerry , and welcome . I also like the simpler radios and antennas , stuff you can work on yourself . My old Ten -Tec and Kenwood are user friendly and just as much fun as any new rig ...and I think they work just as well as the new ones too :)
