Nowadays the internet has become part of many peoples lives such as having E-Mail accounts, creating a blog, even constructing their own web sites and being here on this great Forum. Here is an interesting and useful Amateur Radio on the web where Amateur operators can communicate with other Hams without the need of antennas, expensive gear and possible TVI. It is called "CQ100" brought about by VE3EFC in Ontario, Canada. I have an entire radio station but still enjoy getting on CQ100 almost daily where I frequently talk to a friend in Gemany and others around the world. It requires no more than having a computer, an inexpensive headset/microphone (less than $30 at Wal Mart) and an internet connection. There is another feature of CQ100 where photos can be sent just as when using Slow Scan TV on regular ham radio called "QSO-TV". Other modes such as CW and PSK31 can be used along with third party software. Many hams are unable to have a station for certain reasons and by using an interface, I can relay actual on the air stations through CQ100. There is a free 90 day trial and if you like it, it only cost $32 a year which isn't bad for the service you receive. To start your demo, proof must be E-Mailed that you have an Amateur Radio License (any class). Since it isn't regulated by the FCC, a novice can use CQ100 to talk to others. For more information, go to their site which explains it all: CQ100 Internet Ham Radio Also, here is a YouTube Video
